Hi everyone. This is the review of the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Extra Strength Hair Serum.

What the Company Claims :John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum-Extra strength Formula instantly and dramatically transforms coarse, wiry, unruly frizz for ultra-sleek, purely polished, super-shiny results. It leaves dry, defiant hair extremely supple, easy to manage and healthy-looking. Also repels humidity to help prevent weather-related frizz.

Price : 690 INR for 50ml
Availability : Available at selective online sites
Expiry : 5yrs from Mfg

Directions : After shampooing and conditioning apply to Soaking Wet Hair (squeeze outexcess moisture but do not towel dry). Take an amount about the size of aquarter into palms and smooth evenly through wet hair. Do not rinse out. Use more or less depending on length and thickness of hair. Style as usual.

My experience : As you already might know that I love John Frieda products and this serum is no exception, it works great and leaves my hair feeling silky and with so much less frizz.I absolutely love the packaging. The bottle is such a nice purple shade. The product is clear serum which is thick in consistency. I have used the L’oreal Smooth Intense serum and that’s a bit runny. But this serum is almost gel like in consistency. The pump type bottle is excellent as it dispenses just the right amount of product required. The serum spreads easily and leaves the hair extremely smooth and silky. It also gives my waves and the ends of the hair a soft look. There is no greasy feeling whatsoever. It also does manage to add a little shine to my hair.  I agree that its expensive but a little goes a long way. Its been more than a month since I am using this serum and still more than half of it is remaining.

Pros-
  • Instantly eliminates unruly frizz.
  • Smooth’s and controls unmanageable hair.
  • No greasy feeling to the hair.
  • Spreads easily.
  • Nice pleasant smell.
  • Protects Against Heat Damage.
  • Relaxes Curls.

Cons-
  • Availability is a major issue.
  • Expensive.

Conclusion : Finally I found my HG serum, after using Livon, Silk n Shine, Loreal and many others. This is one serum I am going to keep on repurchasing. Its definitely worth a try.

Hi everyone.... Today I’ve brought a product from L’Oreal Paris. It’s a smoothing conditioner from its Smooth Intense Range. The other ranges which L’Oreal offers are: -
  1. L’Oreal Paris Fall Repair 3X Anti-Hair Fall Conditioner.
  2.  L’Oreal Paris Total Repair Repairing Conditioner.
  3. L’Oreal Paris Color Protect Protecting Conditioner.
  4. L’Oreal Paris Nutri Gloss Mirror Shine Conditioner.
  5. And L’Oreal Paris Smooth Intense Conditioner.

L’Oreal Paris is a well known brand which need no introduction. The L'Oréal Group is the world's largest cosmetics and Beauty Company. With its registered office in Paris and head office in the Paris suburb ofClichy, Hauts-de-SeineFrance, it has developed activities in the field of cosmetics. Concentrating on hair colourskin care, sun protectionmake-upperfumes and hair care, the company is active in the dermatologicaltissue engineering and pharmaceutical fields and is the top nanotechnologypatent-holder in the United States.

I’ve tried many conditioners like Matrix smoothing conditioner, Dove Anti dandruff conditioner and this conditioner is one of them. I have curly hair, so want some strong conditioner to control my frizzy hair. Dove conditioner did not help me much. Matrix products are bit expensive then I switched to L’Oreal. I’ve also used it hair mask so I thought of giving a try to its conditioner as well.

Just like L’Oreal’s hair mask, its conditioner also helped me a lot. It’s a smoothing conditioner and it has helped me a lot in controlling my frizzy hair.

This conditioner claims to transform unruly hair to smooth manageable hair and it really does work and fulfil its claims. The product claims to contain Argan oil and Silk protein which help in controlling frizzy hair.

Some benefits of Argan oil are: -
  • Argan oil hydrates the hair in a natural way. It stops the curliness and roughness of hair in an efficient way.
  • Argan oil penetrates into the hair pores or shafts and enhances the elasticity of hair. It also proves to be very nourishing for the growth of hair.
  • Argan oil is very good for uncontrollable and unmanageable hair. It restores the smoothness of hair and makes them manageable again.
  • Natural antioxidants present in Argan oil strengthen the hair by repairing the damaged cellular membrane of hair.
  • Presence of Vitamin E in Argan oil makes it a tremendous agent for hair treatment. Many external and internal agents like heat, over styling and oxidization damage the hair. Vitamin E present in Argan oil is very useful in restoring the natural hair and renewing and repairing the damage caused by destructive agents.

The back side of the bottle describe how to use the conditioner and also shows how the conditioner works.

This conditioner is of creamy texture with off white color. It has very mild fruity fragrance.
Here is its swatch : -

My experience:-
  • This conditioner has helped me a lot in controlling my frizzy hair.
  • I like its mild fragrance.
  • It made my hair soft.
  • It helps me in managing my hair.

Here is the list of Ingredients: -

Aqua/Water, Argan Oil,Cetearyl Alcohol, Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil/Sunflower Seed Oil, Behentrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Cetyl Esters, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Parfum/Fragrance, Quaternium-87, Isopropyl Alcohol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Candelilla Wax/Cire de Candelilla, Propylene Glycol, Olea Europaea Oil/Olive Fruit Oil, Caprylyl Glycol, Benzoic Acid, Citric Acid, Argania Spinosa Oil/Argania Spinosa Kernel Oil, Triethanolamine.

Pros: -
  • Really smoothes the hair.
  • Inexpensive.
  • Mild fragrance.
  • Does not cause any irritation on the scalp.

Cons: -
No cons. It’s a must buy product as it is inexpensive and very useful.

This bottle contains 180g of conditioner and costs Rs. 150INR. It has shelf life of 3 years.
God Bless....Cya...

Vitamin D: also known as the Sunshine Vitamin is essential for calcium absorption.  Since we all use sunscreen or sit in front of the computer all day long it is very essential to include fish, egg yolk, butter in our daily food because sunlight is the only major source of it and I doubt if we really get our daily source from that.

Source

Vitamin E is an anti oxidant which protects against sunburns and UV rays. Prevents premature ageing. Used on skin for cold sores, eczema.  Source: nuts, oil, sunflower seeds, spinach, wheat, oils, avocado, apple, carrot, celery, boiled tomatoes, grapes and cabbage

Hi everyone. This is the review of the Biotique Papaya Scrub.

What the Company Claims : Papaya is a luscious tropic fruit with enzymes known for their revitalizing and healing benefits. Full of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals, papaya can act as a youth activator and natural exfoliator to revitalize skin without inflammation or irritation.
This exfoliating scrub is blended with pure papaya fruit to dissolve dead surface cells, unclog pore openings and smooth the way for clear skin to surface. Gentle refining action uncovers skin's natural brightness for a younger-looking complexion.

Price : 199INR for 85gms
Availability : Available at online sites and general beauty stores
Expiry : 3years
Directions : Massage on wet face and neck with fingertips. Avoid eye area. Remove with water or damp washcloth. Use daily or as needed.

Ingredients: Papita(Carica papaya), Khajoor (Phoenix dactylifera),Kela (Musa sapientum), YasadbhasmZincum, Ban haldi (Curcuma aromatica), Neem (Meliaazadirachta), Moongphali (Archis hypogea), Methi (Trigoneliafoenumgraecum ), Aambeej (Magniferaindica), Gum Acacia (Acacia Arabica), Bees Wax, Himalayan Water Q.S

My experience : This scrub comes in a green wide tub like Packaging which is the usual packaging of Biotique. The scrub smells strongly of raw papaya which I like. The scrub is a thick and cream colored with some brown coloured coarse granules. The scrub is very thick and the granules are quite big and coarse but the granules are not at all harsh on the skin. Since the scrub is thick it doesn’t spread easily even if your skin is wet, so its better to dilute the scrub a little. I either use milk or rose water for added benefit. The scrub works effectively. It removes the dead skin cells and leaves the skin looking fresh and bright. It comes off easily too while rinsing.

Pros-
  • Nice raw papaya fragrance.
  • Thick creamy scrub which does its job well.
  • Brightens the skin and refreshes it.
  • Presence of all natural ingredients.
  • Suits all skin types.
  • The granules though coarse, is extremely gentle on the skin

Cons-
  • The tub packaging may be considered unhygienic.
  • Might be expensive for some.

Conclusion:A nice creamy scrub with natural ingredients, gentle enough for daily use. I am already on my 5-6th bottle. So loving this product.

We have been using fruits, vegetables and other nature’s stuff as beauty product substitute. We have even used household stuff for our beauty emergencies. Have you ever thought about using a beauty product for our household emergencies for a change !

Well let’s see what we can do with our mighty little beauty stuffs.

  • Vaseline or the famous petroleum jelly!

Do you know Vaseline helps in removing watermarks from wood, stops squeaking door hinges and prevents frozen cupboard locks !

  • Flat Iron
Source

A hair straighter or flat iron can be used to iron the area between the buttons on your shirt/dress.

  • Nail polish
Source

You can secure the buttons on your clothes by applying a thin layer of clear polish on top of it to keep the thread from coming loose. You can also coat the polishes under the iron cans or tubes to avoid early rusting and rust stains spreading on the cupboard or floor.

  • Eyebrow brush
Source

Can be substituted best for a lint remover on your shirts and pants.

  • Hair conditioner
Source

Want to remove a band-aid without pain! Use some conditioner on top of the band-aid and try removing it, it will come off easily. Conditioner works well on a zipper that is stuck badly. Conditioner softens and adds a shine to your leather bag and purse.

  • Eye shadow applicators
Source

Many of us use brushes for applying eye shadows, we can use the tiny applicators that we get for applying glue and cleaning the edges and corners of your laptop screen or LCD TV’s.

  • Hair spray
Source

Your hair spray can remove subtle stains from your clothes.

  • Blow dryer
Source

Impress your guy with this trick, if you have a dent in your car that's on a metal panel (like your trunk, roof, hood, doors, or fenders), you can get rid of it with your blow dryer. Just blast the dent on medium heat for about a minute until the paint feels warm, then reach behind the dent and push it out. Hold it in place for another minute while it cools and there you go -- car repaired !

  • French white tip stickers
Source

You can use your French tip stickers as an emergency stick on notes.

  • Pump dispenser skin care bottles
Source

You can use your old pump dispenser bottles or cans for your kitchen oil storage  also you can use your old lens cases for storing tablets, stitching buttons during travel.

So guys ready for some recycle and reuse. Have you ever recycled or reused your beauty product anytime? How did you do it? Do let me know in the comments section below

Take care and Thanks for reading

I am a fan of body mists and some of my favorite brands are the Bath & Body works, Victoria’s Secret, The Body Shop, L’Occitane, Bodycology, The Healing Garden and Calgon. Few of them are not available in India and I am interested in trying out the new launches here from Iraya, The Nature’s Company and Enchanteur.

The Body Shop – Lychee Blossom Body Mist is a limited edition body mist from TBS, which according to them has Juicy Lychee and guava with delicately floral magnolia, Lychee blossom and freesia to create a sparkling fragrance with an energetic twist.

According to me it’s always difficult to describe any fragrance! Because what’s good to me may not be the same for you and vice versa Fragrance varies from person to person and depends on factors like mood and personality ! A good fragrance can change our mood instantly and brings back memories good or bad ! Fragrance also changes with time and storage, yep it’s a proven fact so your favorite Chanel N°5 may not be your favorite after 15 years or so.

I am a perfume lover myself and have been collecting perfumes over the past 8 years and I will try my best here to explain the fragrance of Lychee Blossom to the best of my knowledge.

Lychee Blossom is a perfect mix of floral and fruity scent. Has a steep citrusy note (read mandarin, close to TBS Satsuma) when sniffed right after the application, but this note fades away beautifully in the next few minutes leaving a splash of fresh floral plus fruity fragrance behind.

A delicate floral Magnolia fragrance is a bliss (For those who are not familiar with Magnolia, one of its famous species is called Champa flower in Hindi or Shenpaga poo in Tamil ). Sadly I couldn’t sense even a tinge of a guava here guess the Lychees have taken an upper hand here.

The scent stays on for a couple of hours with intensive work and stays a bit longer when Idle. Please note, the staying power of any fragrance generally varies based on a person’s body temperature and sweat gland effectiveness.

One thing which I didn’t like was the packaging! Nothing wrong with the plastic spray bottle, which is by the way easy to carry around and safe to handle! My concern was the cheap aluminum cap that covers the fragrance spray nozzle L TBS if you are reading this by any chance, please improve the quality!

Overall the scent is clean, fresh and mild. I wish it had stayed around for a while more. Go for it if you are a Lychee lover, because this is what it is!! Packed with Lychees.

TBS Lychee Blossom retails at Rs. 645 or $ 11 for 100 ml

So have you tried the TBS Lychee Blossom body mist before? Which is your favorite body mist ?

Let me know in the comments section below.

Take care and Thanks for reading.

I think we all know the various benefits of sweet almond oil. Sweet almond oil is yellow in colour, with little smell and a sweet, slightly nutty flavour. It is high in fatty acids, mainly oleic acid with lesser amounts of palmitic, linoleic, linolenic and stearic acids. The oil is very easily absorbed by the skin and is a popular carrier oil used by masseurs and aromatherapists. Its high content of fatty acids, softens and smoothes the skin without clogging it. Sweet almond oil helps the skin to balance its loss and absorption of moisture and promotes cell renewal. Therefore it is regularly used for dry, cracked, sensitive, wrinkled or sun damaged skin. It also strengthens, thickens and nourishes the hair. Other health and beauty uses for the oil include using the oil as a moisturizer, to remove eye make-up, to soften cuticles and ear wax, to get rid of dark circles under eyes, and to naturally prevent and treat acne. It is great in salad dressings and a useful ingredient in home-made soap making. It is well worth adding sweet almond oil to your usual beauty routine.

What the Company Claims : Khadi 100% pure almond oil is derived out of sweet almonds is rich in glucosides minerals, vitamins and proteins. Thus imparting excellent nutritive.  Skin and Hair Care: Low density of oil Almond Oil helps quick absorption in all skin types there by relieves itching, sore, dryness, inflammation, dandruff, all types of sports and pimples.  Massage: When massaged the inherent therapeutic qualities of Almond Oil strengthen brain and nervous system, prevents muscular pain and soften the skin. An excellent baby massage oil.

Medicinal Value : A teaspoonful (5ml) of Khadi's Sweet Almond Oil if taken regularly with warm milk at bed time provides relief from constipation and provides relief from pleurisy of Low Saturated and High Mono Saturated Acids. Helps removes LDL cholesterol.

Price : 160INR for 100ml
Availability : Available at online sites.
Expiry : 2 years

My experience : The oil comes in a regular, small, transparent plastic bottle with a screw cap which has a flip cap opening. When you invert the bottle and squeeze out the oil, a little oil drips down the sides of the bottle which I hate. I just wish and it had a narrow pointed kind of outlet to avoid wastage. I apply this oil to my hair directly when I am in a mood to pamper my tresses. The oil is light weight and runny and very easy to apply. It leaves my hair nice and soft and I have noticed less hairfall with its regular use. I also use this for massaging my body and I must say it leaves my skin silky smooth. I am totally in love with this oil. And just for the review purpose I tasted the oil and let me tell you its not sweet at all. Its bitter in taste and to take it orally one would definitely have to mix it with milk so as to avoid the bitterness.

Pros-
  • Multi-purpose oil.
  • Makes hair and skin soft and healthy.
  • Nice pleasant smell.

Cons-
  • Bitter taste.
  • Small opening causes a little oil to drip down the sides of the bottle.

Conclusion : A good light weight oil that can be used in a variety of ways. Has benefits for hair and skin. Definitely worth purchasing.
