Hello Beauties,

This is my very first LOTD & I think is the first LOTd on MMP as well so its very special to me. This is the the look I wore to a friend’s sister’s hen party. The dress code was ‘Back To Black’ & you’d think it’d be easy for me to find the perfect LBD since in live in Delhi..errr NO ! Especially when you have 2 other friends shopping with you n we didn’t want to end up with similar dresses.

I searched the whole of Delhi/NCR region & finally settled on this polka dotted rosette dress.

I wanted keep my accessories minimalistic & all the attention on the dress so I paired it with a flowerette hair band, a stone studded bracelet & drool worthy pumps which went perfectly with my dress. And how can a girl leave home without her stash of emergency ‘touch up’ stuff? So I carried a black sling bag to complete the look

Here’s a complete breakdown of my look

Dress :- Incense for Rs 1799

Bracelet :- Pantaloon for Rs 399

Shoes :- Pellenium for Rs 1899

Sling Bag from a store in Lajpat Nagar for Rs 750

Hairband from Lajpat Nagar for Rs70

Hope u all liked my look

I’m back with the third instalment of this series: Face Packs for oily skin
Oily skin is prone to a lot of problems like blackheads, pimples, blemishes and enlarged pores. So the idea behind using any product for oily skin should be :-
  • To minimize enlarged pores.
  • To control blackheads and clear clogged pores.
  • To reduce pimples and ensure that it doesn't leave scars on your face.
  • And finally to prevent greasiness and shiny skin and control the excess oil since the excessive oil on the skin attracts dirt which is the mail cause of all the problems.

So here are 5 tried and tested face packs recommended by my mom whose skin was prone to pimples at her younger age but now *touchwood* she has clear skin.
  • ½ tsp honey
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • A little fuller’s earth to make a thick paste

Mix all the ingredients and apply on the face and neck and leave it on for 20 minutes. Wash        off with lukewarm water and then splash cold water on your face.

  • If you have oily skin with rashes take less than ¼ tsp of clove oil, ¼ tsp of eucalyptus oil, 1-2 tsps of sandalwood powder (or ¼ tsp of sandalwood oil) and mix it with Fuller’s earth on your face and neck and leave it on for 15 minutes.
  • If you have enlarged pores, then make a face pack using 1tsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp milk and oatmeal (you can crush the regular oats you have at home and use it), apply on face and neck and leave it on for 10-15 mins.

Mix 2  tbsps papaya pulp with 8 drops of lemon juice. Apply it on your face and neck and leave it on for 20 minutes.

  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 egg white
  • Mix and apply as a thick coat on the face and neck. Wash it off after 8-10 mins

When you can feel smell of the damp wet ground,  fresh new leaves on the trees…etc etc  u know IT'S MONSOON TIME …YIPPEEEE….

After summer, the Monsoon comes as a relief, But with all the joyous moments, it comes with a lot of Health, Skin & Hair Problems and here u cant apply 5 Problem One Solution formula.

Monsoon is the time for germs and bacteria to thrive in unhygienic conditions. During the rains, there is a high amount of humidity in the atmosphere due to which we face many Problems, But with a little care and forethought you can enjoy this beautiful, Romantic, Sexy season  :-

Food & Drinks :-
  • Skip eating outside. I know hot mommos, pakoras, spring roll etc etc may be very tempting during the season but they contain many bacteria which can lead u to digestion problem, Food poisoning etc.
  • Even don’t drink water outside. Keep a classy water bottle in your bag.
  • Frequent power cuts, a common occurrence during monsoons could spoil food in the refrigerator easily, exposing it to bacteria. As far as possible, ensure that you eat fresh food, prepare it in small quantities so that you do not need to store it in the refrigerator for very long.

          Tips :-
  • If you are having cold and cough, boil water with dry ginger for immediate relief.
  • To Treat Viral Fever Boil tulsi (holy basil), ginger and honey and drink the juice.

Skin :- Monsoon brings humidity and its bad news for all type of skins :

  • Dry Skin :- During the monsoons, your skin tends to get drier and dehydrated. Use a cream based cleanser to keep your skin hydrated and an alcohol-free toner to keep it moisturized.
  • Oily Skin :- The skin tends to get oilier and eventually lead to breakouts." Use a light-weight moisturizer after bath. Scrub your face twice in a week to remove dirt. Note: Limit washing your face to two or three times a day as too much washing will stimulate your skin to produce more oil.
  • Combination Skin :- The dry area requires gentle cleansing( cream based cleanser) and regular moisturizing. The oily part needs to be deeply cleansed and toned with regular scrubbing

Tips:-
  • Include vitamin E (Almonds, Peanuts, Cooked Taro Root & Spinach) in your diet. These nutrients are rich in oils and will keep your skin nourished. It is advisable to take vitamin C (PAPAYA,ORANGES, STRAWBERRY) during the monsoons to boost your resistance against diseases.
  • In case you derive any skin infections, boil neem leaves in water and take a bath with it.

Source

Hair :- You may thank the rain Gods for driving away summer heat but your hair may not! Rain makes your hair frizzy, scalp greasy and result in hair fall. They often make your hair limp and lifeless.
Tips:-
  • A hot oil massage 2 hours before shampoo is recommended. Keep your hair clean. NOTE : Do not leave oil on your hair for too long in rainy season !
  • Avoid using hair accessories like scarf/ stole because lack of air circulation result into sweating. Use Umbrella instead.
  • Shampoo and condition your hair regularly to keep your hair n scalp clean. Use MILD Shampoo & always dilute the shampoo .Never apply it directly.
  • Use a wide toothed comb for combing your hair during monsoons, as it will not pull on hair ends like a brush, thus preventing breakage and will also help get rid of the tangles and knots easily.
  • Hair coloring or straightening is not a good idea for the season as it takes very long to wash your hair and dry, stay as natural as possible.

Whether It’s Summer, Spring, Winter, Monsoon We girls no one wants to compromise on style. So here are some tips for Monsoon Style:-
  • Ditch your denims this season and Wear Printed shorts, skirts and capris.
  • Choose darker colors like black, brown and blue, red. So if the rain decide to play, you don't have to be in an awkward situation

Footwear :- Very few option for rain boots are available in India. So we can choose those Jelly Chappals in BOLD colors .

Accessories:- I wont prefer flaunting my metal jwell, leather Bags during monsoon as humid weather can damage them. Carry Funky Transparent Bags.
Raincoats:- Personally I dnt like wearing them at all as it ruins all your efforts of dressing up. Go for Transparent Rain coats. Even Umbrellas with polka dots are IN

Hair Style :-
  • Braid it.
  • HAIR Buns.
  • Side Ponytails

Happy Monsoon

Hello Girlies,
Today I’m going to share with you a problem I’ve been inflicted with since I was a toddler. It’s a very serious disease that’s taking over my life and yet I don’t want a cure for it. Its called OPD. No , no it doesn’t stand for Out Patient Dept. but Obsessive Pink Disorder.

Symptoms:
  • Most of your wadrobe consists of pink.
  • You yearn for every pink eye shadow you come across (ahem! La Colors ‘Serenade’ ).
  • Any footwear design you like you look for it in pink.
  • You dream of owning every imaginable PINK lippie out there.
  • Most of your Nail Polish collection consists of pink shades & you keep hoarding some more even though there’s only a wee bit difference between your old (Omg no I didn’t meant that babies) Np shades.
If you relate to most of the above points then you’re an official Pinkaholic & are bound to enjoy this post. Read on to feast your eyes.

I’m gonna swatch some of the Nail Polishes I own  in pink shades.

Colorbar Nail Laquer- Sizzling Pink 24
It’s a bright almost neon pink. Instantly brightens up your hands & feet. Needs more than 2 coats to get opaque.

Colorbar Nail Laquer- Autumn Rose 20
It’s not a pure pink shade but its one of my favorites so I just had to showcase it to you. It’s a peach-ish shade with slight pink undertones. This is the perfect shade for girls who don’t want to wear a “in your face” pure orange on their nails but yet want to experiment with subtle shades from the same family

Colorbar Nail Laquer- Exclusive 44
It’s a bright dark pink.tends to dull my feet so I prefer it for ‘ painting my nails.

Colorbar Nail Laquer- Rose Quartz 92
It’s a sober dirty pink. Perfect for office wear.

Lakme Fast & Fabulous- Crimson Pink
I had my mommy pick this up for me purely for the fact that it was named ‘Crimson PINK’. It looks more like a matte red to me . Looks lovely on hands as well as feet n surprisingly does dry in half a minute.

Lakme True Wear Nail Colour -N238 (Manish Malhotra Collection)
It’s a glittery pink shade with slight bronze hints. Looks gorgeous with ethnic wear.

Bonjour Paris French Manicure-Natural Pink
I’m not a fan of it at all but it does the job. Shall revert back to Miis Claire or VOV ‘s French manicure Nps once this finishes up.

Shenghji Nail Paint- Mandarin Blah Blah
Hee hee I renamed it since I cant read mandarin L. My aunt bought me this NP which can be used as a top coat or on its own. Unlike most glitter Nps we get in the Indian market this has chunky glitter & gives the look of pink Stones <3..LOVE!

Did you like my collection? Am I missing out on some other fabulous Pink shades? Then please drop in a comment & let me knowalso which nail paint you want me to review first ??

Hello everyone!!
Today I am reviewing theLakme Fruit Moisture Peach & Plum Daily Glow Moisturizer. I purchased this during the summers, I decided to try the Lakme Moisturizer because their whole ”Fruit Moisture” range seemed interesting.

What the Company Claims:Experience the soft dewy texture Lakme Fruit Moisture Peach & Plum Daily Glow Moisturizer with Sunscreens for skin that smiles with softness all day long. With extracts of Peaches and Plum this daily lotion provides 12hr moisturisation leaving your skin soft and silken with a radiating glow. With sunscreens, this lotion also provides sun protection, setting you up to fully enjoy the day.

Price:INR 210for 200ml.

Ingredients:Aqua, Mineral oil, Glycol, Glyceryl stearate, Isopropyl Myristate, Ethylhexyl hydroxyl stearate, CetylPalmitate, CetylAlcohol,Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone ,perfumecyclohexadecane, potassium Lactate, Disodium Lauratesulphosuccinate, Sodium Hydroxide,Acrylates /C10-30 Alkyl Acrylates Crosspolymer,  Ethyl hexylMethoxycinnamate, Ethyl hexyl Salicylate, Lactic Acid, TocopherylAcetate,Cetearyl Alcohol, CetearylGlucoside, Stearic Acid, Sorbitan Stearate, Disodium EDTA,Panthenol,Glycerine,PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor oil,trideceth-9,Penytlene Glyco,Non Fat Dry Milk, PrunusPersica (peach) extract,PrunusDomestica (plum)fruit extract,SodiumPCA,Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, ,Butyl Parabean , Ethyl parabean ,Propylparaben,

Availability:Local stores
Expiry:24months from date of mfg
Directions: Smooth on a dollop over cleansed face and neck for smooth, supple moisturized skin all day.

My experience:
The product comes in a strong plastic bottle with a flip cap. The flip cap doesn’t seem to fit properly and so one has to be extra careful to avoid spillage. The bottle is a nice peachy orangish-pink in colour. The lotion is a very light pink colour and runny in consistency. Has an amazing fruity smell.  I sometimes just open the flip cap to smell the lotion. The lotion spreads easily and is quickly absorbed into the skin. The company claims radiating glow, and skin is left silken but I haven’t noticed any glow whatsoever. It moisturizes the skin pretty well and gives that dewy feel but is temporary. Since I have combination-oily skin I sweat a lot after I have applied this lotion on my face. So now I use this as a body moisturizer and it’s amazing. The bottle also says has sunscreens but there is no SPF mentioned on the bottle. Also the product dries around the flip cap and needs to be cleaned regularly.

Pros-
  • Affordable.
  • Easily available.
  • Very nice fruity smell.
  • Gives that dewy look to the skin.
  • Great as a body moisturizer

Cons-
  • No SPF mentioned.
  • Presence of Parabens.
  • Makes my skin oily and sweaty.

Conclusion:Keeps skin moisturised but the effect is only temporary.  It would be suitable for dry-skinned people since makes my combination skin oily after an hour of use. Works amazing as a body moisturizer.

Rating:3.5/5

Hey Girls !!!
I’m totally loving Maybelline’s new range of products and they have yet to disappoint me…Their new range of Swirl Gel Liners are amazing and you can read my review on the brown and gold variant.

I recently got myself the recent most talked about eye makeup product from Maybelline, The Lasting Drama Swirl Gel Eyeliner in Brown and Gold, and though I have literally tons of makeup products waiting to be reviewed, I decided to do this one first only because it just looks Tress Bien(Beautiful)  and Fabulous !!!! And I couldn’t wait to share with you Girls….

About the Maybelline Swirl Gel Liner
This is one of my favourite eye liners out there. It is long lasting, and just as it was said before, a little goes a long way. The brush is pretty good that comes with it as well. Always clean your makeup brushes, you don't need to use dirty brushes, especially in contact with the eye. I used to be all about liquid eyeliner, but I can't stop using gel now. It sets way better and lasts a lot longer, without you having to worry about it getting messed up.

And also, if you are a contacts wearer like me, BEWARE!! Do not use this on your tightline/waterline. It transferred onto my contacts and ruined them GRRRR!! :( But there was something I loved about this and it was the brush. Really high quality …..:)

ExpertTip : - Mix or use one color at a time, as you please; for an intense color, and glittery shine. Mix the 2 shades for a classy subtle shine. Use separately for an intense powerful line or dramatic shine.

All about Maybelline and its Brand information :- From a small, family-owned business to the number one cosmetics company in America, Maybelline New York takes trends from the catwalk to the sidewalk, empowering women to make a statement, explore new looks, and flaunt their own creativity and individuality. Inspired by confident, accomplished women, Maybelline gives scientifically-advanced formulas, revolutionary textures and up-to-the-minute, trendsetting shades effortlessly, affordably, beautifully.
Features, Packing, Application & Removal
The Maybelline Lasting Drama Swirl gel Liner comes in a pretty tiny glass tub with aluminium cap accompanied with an applicator brush like its former version. The texture of the liner is much creamier than the original black liner. The applicator brush is very comfortable to use. It is soft yet stiff enough to give controlled precise lines without any easy bends or softness. The brown in this dual gel liner is rich, dark, creamier & highly pigmented while gold shade is a total disappointment. It looks sparkly with minute glitters but is way weaker in pigmentation than the brown. One needs at least 4-5 swipes to make the shade show up on lids. The glitters are very fine & do not affect the smooth texture of the liner but they do travel on lids even if touched slightly. I am not much fond of the shade & use it mostly on inner corners of the eyes for some wakening effect needed. I love to use this brown shade. It has got rich & intense pigmentation & gives a rich chocolate-brown colour on lids which looks soft enough not to grab instant attraction.

Pro’s of MAYBELLINE Swirl Gel Liner
  • Packaging accompanied with an applicator brush which makes it user friendly.
  • Soft creamier texture.
  • The two shades complement each other & can be used to create variety of looks.
  • Smudge proof & water proof.
  • Stays intact on lids till removed with a good remover.
  • The brown shade is quite rich with good pigmentation. Its dark enough to show up on lids yet not very stark.

Con’s of MAYBELLINE Swirl Gel Liner
  • The gold shade has weaker pigmentation & is not much used. So it’s better to get good dupes for the brown shade

Why You’ll Love It :
  • Now eyes double up on drama!
  • Gorgeous glitter swirl within the gel liner.
  • Intense color and shine that lasts all day.
  • Smudge proof and waterproof for 24 hours.Comes with an exclusive eye liner brush.

Overall Verdict:
First up the claims, this claims to stay on for 24 hours and I can fully agree! This stays on very well and is in fact quite a pain to take off!
The liner stays intact on my lids till removed with a good makeup remover or olive oil. It doesn’t budge & is waterproof which is an advantage for females like me who got the habit of touching their eyes every now & then. Overall I am not much impressed with the duo together but the rich brown shade steals the show here.

Face packs are a hit amongst everyone young and old; From times unknown face packs have been an integral part of women’s beauty rituals. Improved blood circulation, brightness of the skin, firmer skin are few benefits of using a face pack. So how many of use actually use it correctly? I’m listing down a few basic tips and tricks and some dos and donts. Let me know which ones you already follow and which ones are new to you.

  • Face Packs are not only used to give you an instant glow but also to solve certain skin related problems in the long run so choose your ingredients while making your DIY face pack carefully and check the ingredients on the pack of store bought ones and see if those ingredients are meant for your skin type.
  • People with dry skin! This one is for you! Do not use face packs with Fullers Earth or Calamine (Hello Lush!!!). it may instantly brighten up your skin but dries it out further.
  • Also glycerin isn’t good for dry skin at all! I’m telling you this out of my own bitter personal experience ! It might seem like it is making your skin soft and moisturized but it only dries out the skin in the long run !
  • Never use a face pack on the under eye area or on your lips! Face packs are not meant for such tender and sensitive skin. Instead  apply the pack all over the face (excepting the eye area) and use two slices of cucumber or potatoes on your eyes while you wait for the face pack to dry.

  • Don’t forget the neck while applying a face pack! The neck is as important as the face so while applying a face pack on your face, ensure you apply it on your neck too !
  • It isn't necessary to leave on whatever pack you use on your face till it dries. If a specific time limit is given for keeping on the pack, stick to it.
  • Understand the demands of your skin. If it needs nourishment use the ingredients that would give you just that
  • Before removing the face pack from your skin, take a little water, wet your face and massage the pack one last time on your skin. That way not only does the goodness of the ingredients seep into the skin but the skin gets a good massage and this improves blood circulation.
  • Always wash your skin with a mild facewash before applying a face pack. The skin needs to be clean and free of dirt before applying a pack. Similarly after removing the pack, moisturize your face and apply a sunscreen immediately.

That’s it for now ! Hope you found these tips useful! Ciao !

Hello readers....today i’m going to review a palette that i won in MMP’s first giveaway and I won this beautiful all purpose palette from the brand PIXI. It is compact, handy and beautiful that I can carry it with me. I just love it and I use it almost every day. It contains eye shadows, blush, highlighter, lip-gloss and a lip stain. All these things come in this palette.

Here is it pic:-

It has specific shadows for Line, Crease, Lid, & Light (highlight)

This compact palette has got such beautiful eye shadows. The plum-brown eye shadow is my favourite one. The eye shadows are well pigmented and look very beautiful on application, and they blend well. You can check more detailed pictures of this palette here.

The blush is peach in color. It gives very sheer look to the cheeks. The highlighter adds to the beauty.
The lip gloss is baby pink in color. I have only used it once because I have many lip glosses. Well this one is also very good. I always wanted to try some red or maroon colored lip stick. This palette fulfilled my wish. This palette has got red  lip stain which is quite sheer and simply superb, though it looks dark in the pan.

Here comes the swatches:-

This is all-you-need mini palette of classics-with-a-twist is essential when travelling, and is perfect for everyday quick touch-ups. Easy to pack & apply colour essentials make you gorgeous in a swish.

Another thing which I would like to share about this palette is that it has got no brush. It would be a little disadvantage because I can carry this palette very easily but I cannot carry my makeup brushes with me all the time. (but yeah I can carry mini eyeshadow applicator and mini blush brush).

My Experience:-
  • It is beautiful and handy palette comprising of almost everything one needs.
  • It has beautiful neutral eye shadows , blush, lipgloss and lip stain all in one palette, that reduces my efforts for carrying all these things separately.
  • It helps in doing touch ups.

Ingredients:-
The writings behind the palette are so minute that I can hardly read a word, so I managed to find the ingredients online. Here are they:-

Eye Shadow: Talc, Mica, Magnesium Stearate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Dimethicone, Polybutene, Isopropyl Myristate, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Propylparaben, Methylparaben.

Cheek Powder: Talc, Mica, Nylon-12, Magnesium Stearate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Dimethicone, Polybutene, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Propylparaben, Methylparaben.

Lip Stain: Polybutene, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Ceresin, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Phenoxyethanol & Methylparaben & Ethylparaben & Butylparaben & Isobutylparaben & Propylparaben, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Flavor (Aroma).

Here is an eotd i tried on my friend using this palette:-

Item used:-

(Review coming soon for oriflame mascara)

Pros:-
  • Multipurpose, All-in-one compact palette.
  • Huge mirror.
  • Solid Book type cardboard packing.
  • Very easy to carry.
  • Have pigmented eye shadows.
  • Blush gives sheer peach color to the cheeks and highlighter help to highlight the cheeks.
  • Lip gloss and Lip stain are of very good quality and are of very beautiful shade.

Cons: -
  • NO CONS (i too don’t like compact palettes like these to provide brushes, as they are of hardly any use, so no complaints).

As it was the prize I don’t know the Price. But I can say this is the perfect item to gift. I’m lucky and very happy to have it.

God Bless....cya....
