Face packs are a hit amongst everyone young and old; From times unknown face packs have been an integral part of women’s beauty rituals. Improved blood circulation, brightness of the skin, firmer skin are few benefits of using a face pack. So how many of use actually use it correctly? I’m listing down a few basic tips and tricks and some dos and donts. Let me know which ones you already follow and which ones are new to you.

  • Face Packs are not only used to give you an instant glow but also to solve certain skin related problems in the long run so choose your ingredients while making your DIY face pack carefully and check the ingredients on the pack of store bought ones and see if those ingredients are meant for your skin type.
  • People with dry skin! This one is for you! Do not use face packs with Fullers Earth or Calamine (Hello Lush!!!). it may instantly brighten up your skin but dries it out further.
  • Also glycerin isn’t good for dry skin at all! I’m telling you this out of my own bitter personal experience ! It might seem like it is making your skin soft and moisturized but it only dries out the skin in the long run !
  • Never use a face pack on the under eye area or on your lips! Face packs are not meant for such tender and sensitive skin. Instead  apply the pack all over the face (excepting the eye area) and use two slices of cucumber or potatoes on your eyes while you wait for the face pack to dry.

  • Don’t forget the neck while applying a face pack! The neck is as important as the face so while applying a face pack on your face, ensure you apply it on your neck too !
  • It isn't necessary to leave on whatever pack you use on your face till it dries. If a specific time limit is given for keeping on the pack, stick to it.
  • Understand the demands of your skin. If it needs nourishment use the ingredients that would give you just that
  • Before removing the face pack from your skin, take a little water, wet your face and massage the pack one last time on your skin. That way not only does the goodness of the ingredients seep into the skin but the skin gets a good massage and this improves blood circulation.
  • Always wash your skin with a mild facewash before applying a face pack. The skin needs to be clean and free of dirt before applying a pack. Similarly after removing the pack, moisturize your face and apply a sunscreen immediately.

That’s it for now ! Hope you found these tips useful! Ciao !
