EOTD : Ethnic Blue-Purple Eye makeup tutorial

Hi all !
Today's look has been requested by Sayantanee, as she's all set for the wedding of her Sister. It's going to be a Bengali wedding, and she gave me a picture of the saree that she's going to wear.

The saree has got a variation of Turquoise Blue along with a dark navy blue color, also there's a vivid use of Gold on the saree. So taking these colors as inspiration, i'm going to do this tutorial. Note that in the final images, you'll note that the eyemakeup looks muted and soft, thats because even after using dark colors, i kept blending 'em to maintain a soft look, so that the saree still steals the show

So lets start the tutorial

Step 1 :- Prime Lids & Apply white eyeshadow base :-
Whenever you're suppose to attend an important occasion, its always important to prime your lids. You can use something like UDPP, MAC Paint pots etc. These will help to make your shadows last long, also since its summers, it will act as a barrier between skin and your shadows and will make it less prone to creasing and smudging. After that use a white eyeshadow base, i'm using NYX Jumbo eye pencil in milk here. Apply it on top of lid and on lower lash line, and make sure to blend them properly with your ring fingers.

Step 2 :- Apply Turquoise Blue Eyeshadow and Blend edges :-
Use a flat eyeshadow brush, and pat some turquoise blue eyeshadow on the 3/4th of your eye, i.e leave your inner corners. Make sure you pack the eyeshadow using the flat brush, as swinging motions might over blend the blue, which we want to maintain as the main color. After that use a charcoal black (or black eyeshadow, for e.g MAC Carbon) with the help of a blending brush, and apply on the socket of your eyes in circular motions.

In the below 1st image, this is how it looks after blending the black in socket. After that use a pointed crease brush, and pick some amount of dark blue with purple hints (i actually mixed both the eyeshadows to achieve the color) and apply it on the socket just where we blended the black e/s before. The reason why i used black e/s first is that it will provide definition, without getting t3o stark, as we'll cover it up with blue-purple e/s without compromising the definition.

In the 1st image, this is how it looks after blending the blue-purple eyeshadow on top of black. In case you feel the color placement is apt, and you don't want to go down further then you can stop it here. But if you want some more color, then you can try this. I used a big fluffy brush, and blended some purple e/s just on the outer corner of the crease, this will render a soft and feminie look.

Step 3 : - Highlight & Apply eyeliner and mascara
After that i placed a golden eyeshadow just in the inner corner that we left bare in the starting, and blended it with the blue e/s. After that i dabbed on some more jumbo eye pencil milk on the brow bone, blended it and sealed with a matte white eyeshadow. Apply kohl, tightline your eyes, apply eyeliner (thick wing or thin) and apply lots of mascara.

You can wear this eye makeup at night time too, just increase the black e/s intensity, although i have done it thinking of daytime, therefore soft and blended blue's and gold's. I paired the look with pink lips, and nice peachy blush. Oh and btw i forgot to line my lower lash line with a black eyeliner, cause defined eyes are what bong babes rock !!
