Hello Readers...today I’m going to review a product from Olay brand. Before starting the review here is some information about OLAY.

Olay is an American skin care line. It is one of the top skin care retail brands in the world. The Olay brand has expanded into a range of other products grouped in “boutiques” including Complete, Total Effects, Professional, Regenerist, Quench (North America), White Radiance (Asia) and Olay Vitamins (USA). Olay is the market leader in many countries including USA, UK, and China. Olay has extended its heritage as a moisturizer to stay looking young, to formally creating the “anti-aging” category in mass stores with the launch of Total Effects in 1999. Active Hydrating Formula, generally the least expensive variety, bears the closest resemblance to the pink "Oil of Olay" marketed in the US before the P&G acquisition. The launch was almost double the typical price of a mass market moisturizer at the time. Olay was firstly named “Oil of Olay” but as the time passed the brand is now known as Olay.

As it is an anti-aging cream, I bought this cream for my mother. I gifted this bottle to my mother, she found that it’s showing results, so she continued using and she is using it till now.

As I mentioned Olay has launched many product in the market for almost every age group. This particular range is very popular among the women of age group like 35-45.

The product claims to fight the 7 signs of aging, and it has perfectly fulfilled claims. My mother did had wrinkles, uneven texture, dullness and all signs of aging,  but this cream has helped my mother to fought these signs and now her skin has got its charm back.

Why do we get Wrinkles?
Ans - Wrinkles are mostly associated with aging. As we age, the cells of our skin become thinner and lose elasticity because of the decreased levels of collagen production in our body. The skin cells also divide more slowly, thus delaying repair and renewal of the skin. Also, as we age, the fat cells just under the outer layer of our skin, which makes the skin look supple, get smaller and lose their ability to fill out whatever gaps created by the damage that occurs in the inner layers of our skin. And so our skin sags, becomes dry and develops wrinkles as we age.

How Olay treats the Wrinkles?
Ans-  The main active ingredient of Olay is lanolin. There is no Olay plant, nor oil that comes from it. Rather, the brand name is a play on the term lanolin. Lanolin is refined grease from sheep's wool that easily penetrates the skin. Its emollient and moisturizing capabilities make it ideal for use in skin cream; it treats the damaged cells and hence treat the wrinkles.

Here is its swatch: -

The backside of the bottle describes how to apply the cream. Apply the cream on cleansed face and neck twice a day. Avoid contact with eyes. But they have forgotten to mention the ingredients.

My Mother's verdict: -
  • This cream really works.
  • She is been using it for the past 1 year and has seen some very good results.
  • It’s a fragrance free cream, so it does not bothers at all.
  • It contains SPF 15, so acts as a sunscreen as well.
  • Does not irritates the skin.

It shows results in 1 month (may vary on people).

Pros: -
  • As I’ve seen my mother using this cream for the past 1 year, I can say it is a very good anti-aging cream.
  • The packing is very good, its very easy to take out the cream.
  • Fragrance free.
  • It can work on almost every skin type.
  • Contains sunscreen.
  • Non greasy, so it can be applied in summers as well as winters.

Cons: -
  • No ingredients are mentioned.

As I have mentioned there are no ingredients mentioned on the product, but when I was exploring about the product on internet I came to know that it contains “lanolin”. This is the only ingredient I know this cream contains.

This bottle contains 20g of cream and it costs Rs. 349INR. It is easily available on chemists shops and it is also available on website like www.urbantouch.com, www.stylecraze.com.

I think when I’ll start aging, I’ll also use it. Hope you like reading it.

God Bless....cya...

Hi everyone. This is the review of the NYX Girls Nail Polish – Hot Orange.

What the Company Claims : Somewhere over the rainbow—that’s where you might expect to find one of our shades of divine nail color. The quick-dry nail polish formula is long-lasting, leaving behind no lumps, clumps or lines, while the applicator brush deposits just the right amount of varnish.

Price : 225INR for 12ml
Availability : Available at online sites and beauty centres.

My experience : I won this in a giveaway and was so excited to try it on because believe it or not I hadn’t tried NYX polishes before. The NYX Girls Nail Polish in Hot Orange has a thin runny texture, which is good because it makes application easier. The handle of the cap is short and the brush is small. I needed three coats of this to achieve a nice dark colour. The colour of this is a bright, neon orange. The finish isn’t very shiny and is quite dull, kind of like a matt finish. One needs to apply a top coat on this to add some shine. It’s great that this NYX Girls Nail Polish is fast-drying. It hardly took 2 minutes for the polish to dry .

Pros-
  • Easy to apply.
  • Nice small brush.
  • Extremely fast drying.
  • Bright colour perfect for summers.

Cons-
  • End result is a bit dull.

Conclusion : It’s a nice shade to brighten up a dull day, and would especially look good during the summers. Planning to purchase and try out more bright shades from this range.

Rating : 4.5/5

So here is the last and final instalment of this series! A guide on making your face scrub at home ! Hope you like it!

For making a face scrub you need two basic ingredients: something that will form the scrub part (the basic ingredient)  and an ingredient that will hold the scrub together and provide nourishment.

Lets start with the basic ingredient.

Now when you take a store bought face scrub you will find that it is mostly made of almond grits.. Errr.. Okay whatever   So I have picked 4 other ingredients easily available to us : sugar, coarsely ground almonds (only for normal/dry skin since it has oil content), sooji (rava/semolina) and oatmeal. You can choose any of these 4 to make your scrub although I wouldn’t recommend sugar if you have sensitive skin since it can be really rough on the skin. Sugar qualifies for an excellent lip scrub though.

Then comes the add-on ingredient(s)

Now choosing the ingredient to bind the scrub together is as important as the scrub itself. This also serves a particular purpose. For e.g, if you have dry skin, add a little olive oil to the basic ingredient and use! As simple as that :) Choosing the right ingredient matters. For dry skin I would recommend olive oil or honey. Neem water is apt for pimple prone skin and milk for oily skin. You can also make your own coffee scrub by adding the coffee decoction to the basic ingredient

Hope you liked this post! Do leave your suggestions and comments below!

Hi all !!
With my never ending love for Body washes & shower gels, i'm here with a review of Nivea Lemon & Oil Shower gel. This isn't a new addition, apparently i've almost finished it up, and hence its the right time to review it.. Lets see how good it is..

I'm always on hunt for shower gels with enticing and different, or say more vivid and pleasant fragrance, and there's no better way than to buy and try these out. I regularly keep browsing the Online Shopping Websites for a lot of products, including Shower Gels, but the time i purchased it from Big bazaar, it wasn't stocked on any of the websites.

Claims :-
Refresh your senses with the light lemon scent, while the silky fresh gel with valuable oil pearls and lemongrass extract turns into caring soft foam for the unique sensation of a fresh, well-cared skin. This pack includes loofah as a free gift.

Quantity : - 250ml
Price :- INR165/-
Ingredients :-

The bottle has enough details, and comes in a green transparent packaging with a blue flip top cap and blue graphics.

The shower gel is pale transparent green with yellow/golden oil beads/pearls. The fragrance is very fresh and mild citrus scent, that is hopeless in terms of staying, i.e. it barely stays once we're out of shower. For me, i like any of my bath/body product's fragrance to stay for at least 2hrs, and this does not !! The shower Gel lathers up nicely when used along loofah, and 2 dollops are enough for one time use. It doesn't leaves skin "squeaky" clean, & you'll have to spend some extra time in shower to get rid of that "its-still-on-skin" feeling.

You'll like it if :-

  • Like citrusy fragrances.
  • Have dry skin.
  • Like shower gels, and try almost any
  • Like free loofah
You'll skip it if :-
  • Don't like shower gels that consume your time getting rid of them off your skin.
  • Want fragrance to linger on for more time, more than half an hour to be precise.
I might not repurchase it, i don't really purchase any of the shower gels i use, simply because i'm always looking forward to trying out new shower gels. This ain't a great shower gels, so you can skip it

Have you tried Nivea Lemon & Oil shower gel ??

Godbless !!

I always wanted to have good mascara, I have tried Lakme mascara but it dried very soon. 2-3 months ago I bought this mascara. This is my first product from Oriflame brand. Well Oriflame is a very well known brand for past many decades.  When I googled about the company I found that Oriflame Cosmetics S.A. (Luxembourg) is a cosmetics group, founded in 1967 in Sweden by the brothers Jonas af Jochnick and Robert af Jochnick. The company sells skin care, cosmetic products and related products through an independent sales force of over 3 million people.

Brief History of the Brand:-
Oriflame Cosmetics is an international beauty company selling direct. The company began operations in 1967 in Sweden and has today a presence in over 60 countries worldwide. The company has over 3.5 million "consultants" worldwide with annual sales of €1.5 billion. Oriflame has been listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm since 2004.
The brand got its name from the royal banner of medieval France which was unfurled only on the battlefield and accompanied by the war cry Montjoie Saint Denis.[2] Oriflame gained its first UK consultant in 1970. (Source Wikipedia.com)
Coming back to the product..this mascara is really good.  I bought this from February catalogue.

This mascara is from oriflame clickit range. The mascara’s cap is designed so that I can attach a clickit  lipstain to its cap. That’s why they have named it clickit.

This mascara is also available in green shade. Firstly I got its green shade by mistake then got it exchanged. Here are the shades.

The mascara comes in a tiny bottle with a small wand. The brush is similar to the Lakme mascara’s brush. The mascaras’ consistency is watery so it takes some time to dry. It is intense black. Moreover it is long lasting and it is smudge proof.

My experience:-
  • Its an ok-ish mascara.
  • But After using Lakme’s mascara I found this one better.
  • It does not thickens lashes.
  • Moreover it is not water proof.

Pros: -
  • Intense black shade.
  • It can last for 4-5 hours.
  • It is smudge proof, so if by mistake you rub your eye it will stay as it is.
  • It can be applied every day.
  • It can be afforded easily.
  • And it is very easy to apply.

Cons: -
  • I didn’t like it brush, because it does not give me thick lashes.
  • It is not water proof.

The vial contains 3.5ml quantity. When I bought it , it’s cost was Rs. 125INR, but after discount I got it for Rs. 100 INR.
It costs Rs. 169 INR but in this month catalogue its discounted price is Rs. 149.
Hope you enjoyed reading it.
