I definitely envy those with normal skin! Sigh! Life would be so perfect for them :P but you have to maintain what you’ve got!! So here are a few face packs for those of you who have normal skin but lack brightness or have uneven pigmentation.
    • 2 almonds (Ground into a paste).
    • 1 tsp sandalwood powder.
    • 1 egg white.
    • 1 tbsp honey.
    • Curd.

Mix the ingredients; Apply on face and neck and leave on till the egg white dries and you feel a tightening sensation. Wash off with water at room temperature.
Lime peel powder (grate the peel of a lime, leave it to dry and make it into a fine powder ; can be stored in the refrigerator)
    1 tbsp milk

Apply on the face and neck and leave on for 10 minutes.
    • 1 ripe banana.
    • Rose water.

Apply this pack especially during winters when the skin might seem a little dry. This restores the moisture content.

The flesh of ¼ of a papaya can be made into a paste and can b applied on the face, neck and hands to make the skin look healthy and restore brightness.

That’s it for now! Hope you found this useful !

We all love styling our hair whether it is blow drying, straightening or curling and most of us rely on heat tools to fix a style. An important factor that comes into this is protecting our hair from the heat damage that occurs because of using these hair tools. This means that an amazing hair protectant is a must have and vital to help maintain the health of our hair. I decided to do a review on the one I am currently using. So this is my review on the Schwarzkopf OSIS Flatliner.

What the Company Claims : Ultra flat control+ 200 C heat-proof ingredients + long lasting flat effect +humidity protection + smoothes & reduces frizz.

    Price : 675 INR for 200 ml

Availability : Purchased it at a beauty store near my place for 600 INR. (also available on stylecraze.com)

    Expiry : 3yrs

    My experience :-
The Flatliner comes in an aluminium bottle with spray application and can be set in open or close position, so your spray doesn't leak while travelling. The smell is kind of like cheap alcohol, which I absolutely hate. But thankfully the smell does not linger on for a long period.  The product isn’t sticky and is absorbed instantly by the hair. Well I think the product does its job well. It leaves your hair smooth and straight. I didn’t notice any shine or fewer frizzes but yes it gave my hair a good hold. It made my hair a little crunchy on application but once I used the straightener, it left my hair smooth.

    Pros-
    • Sturdy Bottle.
    • Open/Close Lock System.
    • Not sticky.
    • Good hold.
    • Makes hair smooth and sleek straight.

    Cons-
    • Availability can be an issue since.
    • Cheap alcohol smell.
    • Heavy aluminium bottle which might be difficult to carry while travelling

Conclusion : I like this spray and since this is my first heat protectant I have nothing to compare it with. But yes, I think I wouldn’t purchase this again and might try the Kerastase or the Toni N Guy one next. Inquisitiveness I guess !

    Hola Lovelies,
I have thick, dry & frizzy hair. Due to pressing & back combing my hair frequently it had become even more dry, damaged, dull & full of split ends. I decided to give ample attention to my hair, got a trim & started following these tips regularly& they've made a big difference. I’d like to share the methods that worked for me so that it can be helpful for you as well.

    Weekly Olive Oil Massage
I always get a weekly hot olive oil 'champi' (massage) to nourish my hair. I get it applied at night and wash it off the next morning. Olive Oil is known for doing wonders for dry & frizzy hair & I couldn’t agree more. It has been the savior for my hair.

    Bi-Monthly Hair Masks
I didn’t want to apply the masks available in the market because the last thing my hair needed was more chemicals! I’ve tried loads of homemade hair masks over the years but this one works the best for me.

    # Beat 2 egg yolks, 1 tsp of glycerin & 1 tbsp of curd. Apply this for atleast 2 hrs.I also add 1 tbsp of olive oil if I haven't got an oil massage that week. If you’re suffering from dandruff then add 1 tsp of vinegar as well.

You’ll get soft shining hair !

    Conditioner Conditioner Conditioner
couldn't stress this step more. This is the most important part of our hair care regime. Always apply a conditioner after shampooing your hair. It makes a huge difference in taming frizzy hair. I personally love using Loreal Nutri Gloss Mirror Shine Conditioner.

These are in addition to eating healthy & nutritious food .Don’t forget to drink atleat 2-3 lts of water everyday !!

Hope you find these tips useful & lead to ur beautiful tresses

I have extremely dry skin! So is that a boon or a bane? I would definitely say a bane since it is very difficult to prevent signs of ageing! But then again a few face packs with the right ingredients and a little effort to moisturize the skin goes a long way. So here are a few face packs I swear by :-

    • 1 tbsp Green gram flour
    • ½ tbsp Red Sandalwood
    • ½ tsp honey
    • A little curd

Mix all the ingredients and apply on the face and neck and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. This not only provides the necessary moisture content to the skin but also brightens your face.
    • 1 banana (mashed).
    • 1/2 tbsp honey.

Honey makes the face look brighter; lightens the skintone and banana provides the necessary moisture and oil content
    • Juice of ½ a lemon.
    • 2 tsps olive oil.
    • Yolk of an egg.

I can assure you that even though this mask mightstink, bearing with it for 10 minutes can give you gorgeous skin!

    • ½ tsp honey.
    • Yolk of an egg.
    • 1 tbsp milk powder (if you use milk then the pack will become too runny).

Mix all the ingredients together and leave on face and neck for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with water at room temperature.

    Remember the following points:
    • Use curd instead of milk since it is more moisturizing.
    • Use green gram flour instead of besan. Besan tends to absorb oil..
    • Use egg yolk for giving you the oil content and egg white for an anti-ageing pack.
    • Always ensure you add an ingredient which replenishes your skin with moisture and the necessary oil content.

Hope this helped! How do you tackle dry skin?
