Hi everyone. This is the review of the Lakme Silk Naturelle Daily Foundation in Shade – Pearl. There are two more shades available – Marble and Shell.

What the Company Claims : Silk Naturelle is a weightless foundation that blends into your skin for a naturally beautiful and radiant finish. Its fresh, silky and delicate texture leaves your skin flawless as if wrapped  in silk. With gentle moisturisers and sunscreens - SPF 8, this natural make-up is designed to be used every day.

Price : 275INR for 27ml

Expiry : 30months from Pkg

Directions : Dab dots of the product onto your cheeks, forehead, nose, and chin. Smooth evenly from the center of your face outwards. Apply daily for a beautiful natural look.

My experience : The shade marble is said to suit the Indian skin tones of wheatish to dusky, but since I had already tried that shade and it didn’t seem to suit my skin, I decided to go for pearl this time. This liquid foundation comes in a maroon squeeze tube packaging which is quite medium in size and light weight to carry around in your purse. The foundation is not too runny and quite good in consistency. It blends well into the skin and does not leave a white cast behind. I’ve used it both during the summers and the winters so will tell you how it turned out. It does what it claims –you get beautiful and radiant finish, fresh, silky and delicate texture with flawless skin. But the Indian summers melts it all down. It just doesn’t stay on your face. If you’re in a cool climatic location this will definitely suit you. Now in the winters my skin tends to become dry and flaky, so this foundation does no job of hiding the flakiness even though I apply tons of moisturizer underneath it. So all in all, its an average product which does what it claims but only temporarily. Has SPF 8 but how helpful is that rating when you require almost 30-50 SPF.

Pros-

• Gives a radiant finish.
• Even your skin tone.
• Hides patches and dark circles.
• It is light weight and easy to carry.
• Good enough for everyday use

Cons-

• No staying power.
• Not good for fancy weddings and parties.
• Very little SPF rating, so one would need to apply sunscreen with higher power.

Conclusion : I like the foundation, it really does give a nice flawless look to the skin but just wished that the effect would have lasted for atleast 5hrs or so. For someone who wishes to get flawless skin and radiance with a staying power of 1hr may give it a try. For people like me who like their foundations to give a long-lasting effect , can give this one a miss.
