Natural Series : Face Packs for Dry Skin

Post by Deepika (Entry 4)

I have extremely dry skin! So is that a boon or a bane? I would definitely say a bane since it is very difficult to prevent signs of ageing! But then again a few face packs with the right ingredients and a little effort to moisturize the skin goes a long way. So here are a few face packs I swear by :-

  • 1 tbsp Green gram flour
  • ½ tbsp Red Sandalwood
  • ½ tsp honey
  • A little curd

Mix all the ingredients and apply on the face and neck and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water. This not only provides the necessary moisture content to the skin but also brightens your face.
  • 1 banana (mashed).
  • 1/2 tbsp honey.

Honey makes the face look brighter; lightens the skintone and banana provides the necessary moisture and oil content
  • Juice of ½ a lemon.
  • 2 tsps olive oil.
  • Yolk of an egg.

I can assure you that even though this mask mightstink, bearing with it for 10 minutes can give you gorgeous skin!

  • ½ tsp honey.
  • Yolk of an egg.
  • 1 tbsp milk powder (if you use milk then the pack will become too runny).

Mix all the ingredients together and leave on face and neck for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with water at room temperature.

Remember the following points:
  • Use curd instead of milk since it is more moisturizing.
  • Use green gram flour instead of besan. Besan tends to absorb oil..
  • Use egg yolk for giving you the oil content and egg white for an anti-ageing pack.
  • Always ensure you add an ingredient which replenishes your skin with moisture and the necessary oil content.

Hope this helped! How do you tackle dry skin?
