How are you all today ? Well today I am reviewing the Kama Ayurveda – Soap Free Body Cleanser – Ubtan.

What the Company Claims : A combination of finely powdered herbs, cereals, pulses and nuts with no harmful lauryl sulfates. Softens and smooths while effectively cleansing and exfoliating. Traditionally used after Ayurvedic treatments to clean skin, it can be used as an alternative to soap. Leaves skin touchably smooth and glowing.

Ingredients : Avena Sativa (oatmeal), Phaseolus Aureus; (green gram), Amygdalus Communis (almond), Azadirachta Indica (neem), Santalum Album (sandalwood), Curcuma Longa (turmeric), Cinnamomum Camphora (camphor), Foeniculum Vulgare (fennel), Foenum Graecum (fenugreek)

Directions : Mix 2-3 teaspoons with water to form a paste. Apply to moist skin. Leave on for 1 minute. Lightly massage as you rinse clean to lift dead skin and release oil, toxins and environmental pollutants.

My experience:

I love herbal products and this is by far one of the best herbal body cleansers I have used. The ingredients list itself is impressive. The presence of such wonderful herbal powders was the main reason why I purchased this.

The product comes in a hard steel tub with a tight lid. It requires a lot of effort to open the lid, so I have to be extra careful to avoid spillage. The product is a yellowish- greenish powder and has a wonderful smell.  The herbs are finely powdered and have no harsh granule like consistency. I make a paste with water and apply it when I use it as a body cleanser. Once mixed with water it looks like a green chutney paste.

But I have tried it few times on my face by making a paste with milk for extra benefit. It scrubs the skin extremely well keeping it so smooth and soft. I usually use it on my T-zone by making a paste and let it rest for 2-3mins. And then I scrub it away with wet finger-tips.  It cleanses my pores very well and also eliminates the blackheads. The powder is very fine and hence not harsh on the skin at all. I usually use it on week-ends when I am in mood of pampering myself.

Conclusion: I love this product and I am already on my second tub. I recommend this to all those beauties who love natural herbal products. This would especially benefit those who have sensitive skin, since the product is extremely mild and all herbal.
